Yes. The work environment influences work efficiency. It has intangible dimensions, such as work organization, management model, and organizational culture. It also has a tangible dimension. These are the spaces in which we perform our tasks independently and collaboratively. A workspace may be ill-suited to the tasks at hand, for example, it may be noisy, and the chairs and furniture may be uncomfortable. Will it be easy to focus on work that requires full concentration? Can a team without a suitable meeting space effectively implement collaborative projects? Can a manager be a good leader if they lack appropriate conditions for meeting with their employees? Yes, we know, you shouldn't answer a question with a question. We wrote about this because we've heard so many employee complaints that the workplace hinders task completion instead of facilitating it.

Since we've been working remotely, from home, we're increasingly hearing that having the right space allows us to work much more effectively. This usually applies to individual tasks. The vast majority of us also perform tasks based on team collaboration. This, in turn, has suffered greatly in the distributed model. Despite many new technologies facilitating remote communication, the strength of our organizations stems from the synergy of teamwork. Synergy is often illustrated by the equation that 1 + 1 in individual work equals 2, but in teamwork, 1 + 1 = 11. So what if we're individually even 20% more productive? Then 1.2 + 1.2 = 2.4, but that's less than 11? Achieving full team synergy without physical contact is very difficult, if not impossible. Therefore, for a company's successful results, it's essential to create a new office model – a hybrid office – that will encourage and enable full team collaboration and synergy.
